The Strengths and Weaknesses of the Republican Party

Many people think of the Republicans as southern supporters, and lately as anti-gay marriage supporters. one of their stronger aspects, though, that people are drawn to is their image of religion. Studies have shown that about 55% of Americans feel that the Republican party is more friendly towards religion than the Democratic party. Along with their support of religion, the majority of Americans like the fact that the Republicans support the Supply Side Theory. This theory tries to focus more on supplying the Americans instead of demanding from them, which means that they will try to cut tax while still supplying them with just as much stuff, just for a less amount.
Just as John Maynard Keynes was popular with Democrats because he distrusted the free market and saw the government as the manager of the economy, the Conservative Republicans that President Reagan led, looked to Jean-Baptiste Say because his theories supported the idea of leaving the control of the economy in the hands of the market and keeping government intervention to a minimum.
Finally, one of the Republicans main weaknesses is the fact that they are starting to move away from what they once believed in. The Republicans used to be supporters of the middle class societies, but lately they have been moving away from their issues to deal with many upper class ones. The Republicans are doing this because the middle class is starting to diminish. the Democrats are normally supporters of the few people in both upper and lower classes, while the Republicans supported the majority of the large middle class, but since the middle class is getting smaller the Republicans have to find new supporters. By doing this, they are leaving the remaining middle class, basically, in the dust.
