After being booted out of the big apple, Wal-Mart tries again to become part of the big city. After being diven out by the citizens in New York City Wal-Mart feels that they can once again be apart of NYC.
The renewed push by Wal-Mart comes five years after the retailer tried to open stores in Queens and Staten Island but faced furious opposition from community leaders and elected officials. But the retailer and its supporters, and even its opponents, say that the dynamics have changed and that the city has become more receptive to so-called big-box stores, like Target and Ikea.
Wal-Mart had been driven out twice by the city leaders, but now the economy in New York City has taken a turn in Wal-Marts favor. the comunties are findin that the big named stores are becoming too expencive for a majority of people, so they need a little bit of a change. Wal-Mart is almost part of the United State's landscape and cant be forcidly removed. Even though they went down twice they are going down with a fight. Also, with the unemployment rate going up, Wal-Mart is a little bit of hope that some of these citizens need to get the jobs that they desperatly need.
