Whitman Stepping in the Wrong Direction

Meg Whitman and Jerry Brown met with Schwarzenegger and Matt Lauer to talk about the elections when Matt Lauer brought up the TV ads. Jerry Brown basically said ill take mine down if Whitman takes her commercials down, but Whitman had other plans:

"But I don't think we can take down the ads that talk about where Gov. Brown stands on the issues. I just think it's not the right thing to do...."
"I just think it's important for people to understand what the track record was in Oakland, what the track record was as governor..."
And the audience reaction got worse when she went on the attack.
"Jerry Brown in many ways left this state in worse shape than he did when he inherited it,"  said Whitman.
Whitman was not thinking about her voters when she made these comments. after she stated that she wouldn't take her commercials off of the TV, the audience booed her. She was already down in the running for Governor, and after this comment, Californians are going to be less interested in voting for her. She brought it upon herself for doing this. It doesn't make sense why she would not just take the commercials down. they are not that big of deal, and a majority of the commercials are absurd and bazaar. Brown was going to be respectful to Whitman, but i guess that wasn't good enough for her. Now, more people will side with Brown because he was willing to take the commercials off.
